The Department of Radio and Television at the College of Media, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop titled: "The Role of Visual Security Media in Combating Drug Promotion." The workshop was presented by Dr. Muhannad Abdul Rasheed and Mr. Qusay Hamid Fahad, with the participation of several faculty members and students.
The workshop addressed the critical role of security media in combating drug-related issues through continuous awareness efforts and the professional and objective reporting of facts. It highlighted the importance of television programs and news reports in shedding light on the health, social, and security risks associated with drug abuse.
Participants emphasized the need to intensify media efforts to support official awareness campaigns and strengthen collaboration between media institutions and relevant authorities. These efforts aim to curb the spread of drugs and foster a healthy and secure environment for society.
