The College of Media Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Intellectual Extremism and the Role of Media in Combating It
The College of Media held a scientific seminar on the occasion of the International Day for Combating Intellectual Extremism, under the slogan "Intellectual Extremism and Media," with the participation and presence of the Dean of the College of Media, Professor Maad Asi Ali, alongside faculty members, staff, and students.
The seminar began with an opening speech by Assistant Lecturer Hamza Rahim Al-Mufarji, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit. He emphasized the importance of media in promoting social regulation and confronting extremist ideologies, highlighting its role in raising awareness and building cohesive communities.

The First Theme: Presented by Dr. Humam Saleh Al-Hamdani, Coordinator of the Radio and Television Department, which discussed the role of media in promoting a culture of respect for the law, challenges in its implementation, and the importance of awareness communication in combating terrorism on local, regional, and international levels.

The Second Theme: Presented by Dr. Ahmed Hatem Mohammed, Coordinator of the Journalism Department, who stressed the pivotal role of media in educating and enlightening society, as well as fostering sound societal thinking.
