This Wednesday morning, the College of Media organized a scientific seminar under the slogan "Iraqi Legislation Day: Building the State and Enhancing the Rule of Law," in celebration of this national occasion, which is observed by state institutions and legal and legislative circles in Iraq. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Maad Asi Ali, along with faculty members, staff, and students.
The seminar was opened by the Dean, who emphasized the importance of commemorating this occasion to raise societal awareness about the significant role laws play in building a strong and stable state. He highlighted the pivotal role of the media in spreading legal culture and educating the public about the importance of adhering to laws.
The seminar covered several key topics, including a presentation by Dr. Hatem Jassem Al-Jamili, Head of the Radio and Television Department, on the role of media in promoting a culture of respect for the law and the challenges of law enforcement amid political, social, and economic changes. The session led by M.A. Dina Nizam Abdul Ghani, Head of the Legal Unit, discussed the impact of Iraqi legislation in maintaining societal unity.
The seminar concluded with recommendations emphasizing the need to strengthen collaboration between the media and legislative institutions to promote legal awareness and the importance of updating laws to align with societal developments.
